It’s not very often that someone involved in criminal justice reform work can claim a “Great Day!” Today’s that day for me. I will be interviewed today in a recorded interview with one of NPR’s Senior Reporters. AND, I received a confirmation that Harvard University Inquest Journal will be publishing my second article “The Last Breakfast – A Promise Kept,” this coming Tuesday.

As my friend, Heather O’Malley, pointed out to me early this morning, WE are the “voices of the voiceless.” It is OUR obligation to speak for others whenever we can, whenever their voices are muffled or silenced. I am honored to do this work, and invite you to join me in lifting ALL our voices!

The holidays are upon us….are you thinking of the men and women who live HERE?

THE HOLIDAYS ARE ALMOST HERE.

We are remembering that it is a month to encourage, to strengthen our communities, and to help citizens returning from prison. It’s a time to celebrate our independence, both nationally, and the dependence of our recently incarcerated people. Let’s just call them “FIPS”, Formerly Incarcerated Persons. They have EARNED the opportunity to reintegrate into society, but they need OUR help to do it, and to do it safely and successfully.

Help us to help them. Please. Your community will be stronger, and safer.
